Photos for 65th anniversary Book!

REVISION FOR ANNIVERSARY PHOTO SHOOT!

This is a revision of the previous post. There are several people who are out of town, or not able to make it to the guild to get their photo taken on these days. That is OK :). We will need you to please send a photo of yourself and a separate photo of your artwork to danacheramie@hotmail.com.
Here are the guidelines as to what will be accepted and formats. TIFF is preferred format, but .JPEG will be accepted.  Please use high resolution for your photo.  NO phone pictures or web cam photos, as they can appear grainy or pixelate easily while sizing for the book.

Taking your Photo

  • When taking your photo please try to get a good, clean shot with no blurs or distortion.
  • Please remove all articles from the background that are disruptive or distracting from your photo.
  • To try to keep the book uniform and flowing, we ask please just yourself be in the photo, no pets, motor vehicles, etc.
  • If your photo for some reason does not scale to the size, or does not meet the guidelines, you may be asked to submit a new photo.

Taking a photo of your art

  • These also need to be in .TIFF or .JPEG for high resolution.
  • Please NO GLASS covering while you are taking a picture of your art, because of glare!
  • Try to make sure there is plenty of light so the image is not distorted and will represent the art well.
  • Again, if the photograph does not scale to size, or does not meet guidelines you may be asked to submit another photo!

If you have any more questions please feel free to contact me at danacheramie@hotmail.com.

Goodbye from your 1st CAG Blog and Facebook Editor

I can't believe it....here it is nearly the middle of December and the close of the year,  as is so often the case with our lives, the passage of time mandates change.  I want you to know with the end of December, I am retiring as CAG Blog and Facebook Editor, for both professional and personal demands. (And.... I must tell you... one of those important personal demands is the arrival of our 1st grandchild!!!! Woo Hoo!!!)

It will be a good thing for the blog, having written over 475 posts, for me to step aside and allow a new editor to run with a new energized view of what's happening at the CAG and the opportunities in our region.  I want all of you to know I have loved getting to know you and getting the news out on both the CAG Blog and Facebook. It's been rewarding personally, professionally and intellectually!  I have met so many wonderful people as a result and will miss the online conversation!  But,  I will also be looking forward to more conversations in the real world!

With retiring, my greatest wish has been that the CAG news continues and the community is informed about art opportunities!  With that being said,  I want to welcome our new editor, Dana Condel, a talented artist and new member of 2014 CAG board of directors. I'm sure she will do a terrific job carrying on the Blog and Facebook position!  I will be looking forward to supporting her in 2014 and following all the Cheyenne Artists Guild news and FB posts!

With warm wishes,
Gail Watford

KATHI TARANTOLA Tonight at CAG from 5 pm to 8 pm

ART, DESIGN AND DINE
at the Cheyenne Artists Guild
1701 Morrie Avenue

December 12, 2013
5 pm - 8 pm

Hand blown glass Artist
KATHI TARANTOLA

It’s not everyday you get to meet someone working in hand blown glass but during the October art tour the public will get the opportunity! The Artist’s Guild will host the beautiful glass work of Cheyenne Artist Kathi Tarantola.

Kathi Tarantola, artist, received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wyoming. Most of her early work was three dimensional, sculptural, form. However, after developing an interest in wheel-thrown pottery, the artist turned toward further exploration of various studio crafts. In 2005, Tarantola began working with hot glass and found her passion for glass blowing. Then, in 2011, Tarantola studied amongst world-renowned glass masters at the famous Pilchuck Glass Studio near Seattle, Washington.

"Blowing glass is like the 'extreme sport' of the studio crafts," says Tarantola. "Nothing is more thrilling than combining elements of color and design with a great big dose of excitement and danger!"

Don't miss out on the opportunity of Kathi sharing her art with you!
